I'd been thinking about adding an Orient diver to my collection for a while when I heard that Orient was releasing a "Mako III" in some Japanese-market-only colorways. I did a little digging and found one that really appealed to me (in the pic).
I had recently heard about the website Buyee, which is a shopping service in Japan that will purchase things from the Japanese domestic market and ship them overseas.
So I gave Buyee a whirl, and today my Orient diver arrived!
The Buyee website is not completely intuitive; I had to click around for a while purely to orient myself (pun intended) until I was comfortable with how to use the site. But from that point forward the process was simple, and the service was fantastic.
And so far I love the watch. It sized up easily, it's beautiful, it's comfortable, and seems to function well.

Japanese date wheel is a nice touch
Very cool? How was the price?

The watch cost ¥44,000 at the exchange rate of the day.
The Buyee service and shipping to the United States cost $31.
There is a brown color way in that model I like. You can also generally find JDM watches sold on eBay.
Dammit, I'm probably getting another Orient. That looks 👍
Looks good! Thanks for the info about Buyee.
Wow that is beautiful, thanks for the Buyee info!🤙❤️
A lovely watch. I have three Orient divers. Better make room for another!
