Watchmaking Journey pt2

So, continuing on with my super amateur watchmaking journey I put this Panarai homage watch together. This is my very first time building something. It has a Unitas 6497 Swiss movement in it that I salvaged from an unattractive small pocket watch and serviced. Quality of the service is not awesome but it’s clean and runs. Vintage look leather strap, luminor style case, sapphire crystal, mineral glass case back. First swing, plenty of room for growth. This is a way to learn while exploring a love for the Panarai design and legacy. What do you think?

That Nekked watchmaker video will haunt me no more because I did it.

I don’t have a main spring winder so it got a new main spring. Probably could have used in anyway.

Super build well done sir 👏🏻👏🏻

Nice! Question 🤚… the case, is the crown push and pull or screwdown? I find it such a pain for a screwdown crown for a manual wind …

·

Push pull crown with a latching crown guard lever.

Nice! May I ask from where did you buy the original ETA movement? Looks like new!

·

Found a used pocket watch on eBay. Not sure how old it was. Movement cleaned up nice. Cheaper than buying a new one.
