Discussion: John Mayer and Ed Sheeran Talking Watches
One of the best talking watches with a genuine host!
It has been a while since a TW episode by Hodinkee has had such a fluid and casual conversation about watches. Not just the fact the back and forth was so well, Ed even disagreeing to statements by John, made it feel like a true talk about these things that occupy our wrists.
By no means is the collection attainable, but the character from each of the watches, and even the usage of each and every one really shows a great joy in collecting and owning the watch. Very minimal thought of investing, even Ed hates the idea of when one of his watches gets hyped up.

Yeah, there was the part where the G Shock collab was made and it is an ad. It only was a 5-10 minute discussion about it though. And he showed so many other watches too. You could also argue it to be an ad for that AP in the end of the episode 🤷♂️

True mate. So sad thinking that most of the collection is kept in a vault and isn’t that easy to grab and go. Then again have never imagined have such a collection myself 😂 Love the piece unique too, changing the world time to include the hometown is just a great little change

I wish I could play John Maher style , Ed really is a songwriter not a guitarist:) both get my respect for navigating life the way they both have :)

OK, so I watched this piece over the weekend. And though I'm not a fan of either's music, and find (or at least found) Ed Sheeran to be somewhat annoying, I must say I really enjoyed their conversations about life and watches. Ed even impressed me a little with his somewhat "unorthodox" philosophies about collecting, modding, etc. He came across as a decent bloke. Giving his road crew custom Tudors was cool! 👍
