Multi band 6 reception

I'm sure this won't be news to some of you but I figured I would share in case it helps.

I live in the US roughly 1600 miles from the atomic clock transmitter. I purchased my first Multiband 6 watch early this year. My reception to the signal was very spotty and my watch would only sync occasionally which annoyed me.

I tried the atomic clock apps on my phone and while they work it is a pain to do. I tried leaving it in the window at night but it still would only sync sometimes.

I found a trick that works great for me. My clothes hamper has a metal frame and if I hang my watches from it before I go to bed they all sync 99.5% of the time. I have 5 Multiband 6 G Shocks now and most of them will sync at midnight on the first attempt. Sometimes atmospheric conditions do cause them to not sync but it is very rare.

Hopefully this will help someone if they live on the outer edges of the atomic signal. Sorry to those who have no access. I know it might be odd but I love seeing RCVD on the display. 😀

I also love seeing RCVD on display. I live in Japan, and there is two atomic signal transmitter, one in east Japan and one in west Japan. However, I recently moved to city near the mountains, and I was not able to receive the atomic signal anymore. I bought this multiband6 bluetooth model, which sync with casio smartphone app 4 times a day. I am glad to see RCVD on my gshock again!

I love seeing the RCVD as well. Windows usually work for me but thanks for the info! Nice to have options. 👍

I have the same problem. Just leaving it on the window sill still doesn't work, so I leave it overnight on my metal work lamp which acts as an antenna 📡.

Also dumbbell bars work too haha. Left it on my little home gym setup and it worked too.

I have found that the orientation of the watch to have a significant effect on my MB6 reception. I have found that putting the casebook to the west, which is the direction of the radio station from me seems to facilitate better reception. I keep all of mine in a watch case on my dresser with the backs facing west and they update most every night.
