TAG Heuer Making Moves

I had the pleasure of visiting a TAG Heuer boutique while business traveling. I needed to see the new Carrera's box crystal in person. Just wow. It is something I believe you have to see in person to truly appreciate. I've always appreciated Heuer and there are a few vintage pieces that really tickle my fancy; this is the first time I've actually wanted a TAG. And even more unbelievably, it has made its way onto my short list.

Speaking of short list, this next bit is something pretty hush hush but they let me peek behind the curtain and well... finally, TAG Heuer is bringing out the reason they added "Techniques d'Avant Garde" to Heuer.

Gotta wrestle a banker to see if I can get away with [REDACTED] or if I should just go with the Carrera 🙃

TAG makes beautiful timepieces and I love many of their models. For me they fall in a weird $$ space. For a little bit more you can buy an Omega, Tudor or Breitling in the same model type. The pieces in your picture are impressive… have fun!

Yeah! I went to a Tag Heuer boutique for the first time a few weeks ago, and was also really impressed by their pieces! Can't wait to find out what their new release is going to be!

Definitely, they have more -'s than +'s with their modern pieces. That being said, when their sales personnel are actually excited to talk about their shift in focus and they present pieces like this Carrera, it makes me believe in a bright future for them. All from an enthusiast's perspective at least haha.

It may not have as much mass appeal as these Carrera, but I can say it's definitely TAG 😅

The glassbox is the first Tag I've lusted after in years and the first that I think doesn't have a strong comparable among hypothetically more "prestigious" brands.

Its an inhouse vertical clutch column wheel automatic chronograph with a small footprint (39mm x 46mm x 13mmish?) and a big power reserve. Which, honestly, puts it more into company with the Daytona than larger chronos like the Speedy or the B01 powered Breitlings.

It is a very very good watch for not an unreasonable amount of money.

Hit the technical nail on the head. It is definitely more than the sum of its parts too. The subtle differences between the black and blue are so well executed, it's apparent much thought went into them rather than just moving the date from 12 to 6 respectively.

Funnily I always found “Heuer” desirable in the Carrera form , The newer watches have captured that old pre amalgamation Heuer’s before TAG got put on the dial . Just my personal opinion .
