This is still the best watch I own and love to wear it very often. For me the silver dial is the top choice in Datejust spectrum. And classic 36mm as well!

Certainly this can be versatile enough to be a watch for all occasions.
This to me is what I think of when I hear Rolex. Datejust 36 with a fluted bezel. Stunning, versatile, classy, and timeless. Only the Omega AT or Globemaster rivals it in my book.

I’m a millennial. I grew up seeing the Datejust grace the wrist of so many middle class and wealthy boomers. Usually two-tone. Gold rope or figaro chain to match. Khaki shorts. Dress shirt with the sleeve rolled up. A few buttons unfastened to display the chest hair lmao 🤣 That was their swag. I, too, think of the Datejust (and President and submariner) when I think of Rolex for that reason, among other reasons.

I was all in for a silver dial.. and then they released the mint green last year. Thankfully Rolex is Rolex, so I told myself I’d let my AD decide for me haha.
Anyway I ended up with green and love it equally, if not more.
the jubilee bracelet really takes this over the top
