Lume Shots

CW Twelve vs Seiko 5 GMT

I love me some lume. On the wrist the Seiko has more, brighter and longer lasting lume than the CW.

Still need to get better at taking night shots, if you have tips or want to share your best (or worst) lume shots, I’d love to see them!

I have found you can get good lume and still show the watch if you light the watch with a UV light while taking the photo. I have only done this one or twice but I plan to do it more when getting lume shots.

I guess this is my best lume shot. Night mode on iPhone 13 Pro with light coming in from a huge window at night.

Yes, get a nice solid UV torch. Not a mini 1 bulb, but a 3 battery several bulb.

Makes lume shots dead easy!

Yes, my Seikos thrash all my Swiss divers. Not surprised the CW loses. Rado Cap cook, Oris Aquis, Tudor BB, Zodiac Sea Wolf and Omega SM ... all those Swiss divers have all been disappointmented compared to my Seiko Prospex Divers. 😯

Not sure why the Swiss can't seem to do lume very well.😕 I was spoiled for lume since getting my first Seiko Monster 24 years ago.

My fave LX pictured below:

(NOTE: these shots are NOT made with a UV torch, it was just exceedingly dark, with exceedingly good lume, a bright house b4 leaving, and being on a work bike commute to work in the pouring early morning rain!)

I took mine in the day with UV, charge them and then took the shot.

The dial on the #christopherward 12 is amazing

It’s attractive but does not attract attention. This is not the one that smacks home runs out of the park every night, but it will get you on base every single time. This is not your temperamental Ferrari supercar, but your well-mannered Mercedes. This is not the one night stand — this is the one you marry.
