Rangemaster Mechanical doesn't wear as small as you think...

So, when the Rangemaster Mechanical (an Island Watch/Urban Gentry collab), came out recently, one of the main criticisms of it was that it was too small. And for sure, 37mm is smaller than my own 40mm-plus sweet spot for my near 8-inch wrist.

But one thing I noticed in videos where the Mechanical was placed alongside the original Rangemaster collab from the previous year, is that the Mechanical wore like a larger watch than the original, even though it was a smaller diameter. Hmmm...

So I bought one, and here it is on my large wrist. I think it works. Do you?

I haven't taken the wrapping off, however, as I have a Tudor Heritage Ranger which scratches that field watch itch. I really like the Urban Gentry, however, and I loved the idea of 15k being donated to charity, so I had to buy this. Will I keep it though?

I think it works fine on your wrist. You should think, if you would always choose to wear the Ranger over this one after the honeymoon phase, or if this watch would get wrist time and can coexist in your collection with the ranger.

I like it on your wrist. In fact, I like it better after seeing it here. I have found that thin bezels make the face appear bigger which makes the watch wear larger. I have a 36mm Tandorio that seems bigger than other 38mm watches. As a fan of both gentlemen in the collab I say keep it. I think it could grow on you.
