I LIKE IT! The alternative way to wear a nato strap

It's hard to tell in my post about getting a new (old) Seiko Tuna recently, but the watch was sitting VERY high on its nato strap. Partly because the Tuna is 14.7mm thick to begin with; partly because all watches sit higher on a nato; and partly because the nato I was using was extra thick and stiff to boot.

I had some new straps coming in the post which were definitely thinner but, when they came, the issue of watches sitting higher on nato's still remained. I remembered there was an alternate way to wear a nato as a single pass WITHOUT cutting the extra strap, and sought out some videos on the topic.

The best one I found is here:

It's simple, and to the point. For the last day or two I've been wearing my Tuna in this style and... it works! The watch sits low on the wrist... the strap doesn't have heaps of excess play going on... it basically looks and feels like a traditional sort of strap set up, even though it's using a full-on nato strap.

Give it a try sometime. It's not bad at all!
