SBGE285

Was in London so took the opportunity to try on a watch I’ve been looking at for ages. It felt strangely light for the size of watch’s and would take time to adjust to if I was to purchase it. Anyway fair to say the dial is amazing and the movement is incredible.

The SBGE285 is my next watch purchase! It's gorgeous!

·

I love everything about it, except the price.

it is nothing short of extraordinary. Angular case, almost all brushed case and bracelet it is the least Grand Seiko of the Grand Seiko I have owned and I mean that in a positive way.

One of the things I noticed about the GS titanium models is they seem to be, of the watches I looked at, the only models with even lug widths. Beautiful watch!

My friend and I was talking about a trend of new watchmaking. In the 2000s watches were masculine, manly, hefty. These for watches were akin to that of being a man.

Nowadays we look at post-covid and the inclusion of titanium. Watches are leaning more towards comfort, the same way that we see more athleisure gear out and about. Wearing an Bulgari OF, wearing a Richard Mille these watches are extremely light, almost comically so if you're not used to wearing it.

Amazing imagery, the watch really sparks. Is this gorgeous in real life or did it receive some digital makeup?
