When looking at your wrist, do you…

I find that I forget to read the time and instead obsess over a detail or how I need to wipe the crystal or case 😖

I look at the time and date for a that reason because I need to know. However I do find myself looking at my watch for no particular reason more than I do to check the time and date.

I'll be the first one to admit that I want to look at the time and completely forget to actually read it and just look at details.

Then I look at it again because I have no idea what time it is.

Once while wearing the Perception I didn't realise it was hours wrong until the end of the day, when I checked it for the time (to catch the train). I must have looked at it a couple of dozen times during the day.

Yeah, I look for the time & end up looking at my watch & forget the time so have to recheck it multiple times - anyone watching would think it's a compulsive tic 🤣

This idle beauty appreciation is done when donning and doffing, not when it is in service during the day.

This reminds me of PJ O'Rourke's comment about how "scenery" is best appreciated at 100mph. I can't remember all the context but the gist was that hills and trees and all aren't going to change before your eyes (I believe he quipped that a topless Sigourney Weaver wasn't going to appear). The point being, I've seen the watch. I know what it looks likes. Nothing has changed. I don't understand how people get mesmerized by stuff like this.
