Yesterday, @vmiyanks04, had a post about watch rules. Rule 7, never buy a watch on impulse got me thinking. I tend to enjoy the watches I buy on impulse way more than the watches I think out and plan to buy at a set time. In fact the watches I buy on impulse all stay in my collection and the watches I mull over lose favor and leave my collection.
A good case in point is my Sinn 556A. I would say it is the most severe impulse buy in my collection, I bought it after about 3 minutes of research online, and it is the watch I love the most. I think for me my heart definitely takes precedence over my brain when it comes to buying watches.
What about you, impulsive or calculated with your purchases?

The only watch purchases I've made on impluse have been Casios. Even if I'm disappointed, and I haven't been, it'll hurt less. 😁
All of them.
One night I was drinking vodka and shopping online. The next morning, I got the notice this watch shipped. I regret nothing
Thanks for the mention! I’m glad it worked out for you and that’s a fantastic watch! I’m sure some gut impulses will work out, but I guess for me it’s more just to check myself and make sure I don’t make a dumb decision just because I like something or it’s a good deal. I think I made too many mistakes in the past that I’d rather not repeat, even if it may work out. The few that I bought on impulse I ended up not keeping even though they were great watches.

Must have been White Russians. 😁👍
I tend to shop for used watches because I have a habit of selling one to buy one. Thus I don’t want to loose too much money. I tend to wait for the right offer.
I’ve always been an impulse buyer and it has enabled me to have some fantastic watches. I’ve got a limited budget on that I spend so I also impulse sell too 🫣 I’ve now decided that as I will be retiring in a few years I need to decide what I’d like my collection to to look like. So I’m basically stopping selling to try out new and I’ve made a list of watches and when I plan to get them. I want to add a few back into into my collection that I really miss and a couple of celebration watches
I might continue to get a few impulse seiko dive watches after I’ve finished off the list and retired
So I was now I’m not but will be again😂
Bit of both, my impulse regrets have been when I buy an AliExpress watch. Other than those my other impulses have stayed in my collection, sometimes I find I research a watch so bad that my brain becomes exhausted and I forget about it
