My first seiko

Hi guys, I’m new community. I bought couple of months ago. TBH it’s fantastic watch for my 6.3” inch wrist. But I somewhat feel it’s little thick and unfortunately when swing my hand unknowingly while I walk I gets hit and chances getting scratches on the glass is high due to its thickness is there way to protect the glass? For sure I should be cautious not to swing my hand. But eventually I’m worried it might tend to get more scratches due to thickness. Is there solution to it?

A couple options come to mind:

  1. Take it to a local watchmaker and have a sapphire crystal installed

  2. Take it to a local watchmaker and have a thinner crystal installed so it sits below the bezel (some seiko landmasters have this feature)

Yes. Let it get beat up. It will show more character💥😉 But I’m sure you will also build a natural awareness when you move around now. Nice watch though💯

And when it gets beat up enough, you can start looking for your next watch!

Hello new Cruncher and welcome!

That's an unfortunate consequence of this watch and it's sister the 5KX. It's a tall piece to begin with and then there's the added height from the strap. Is it single or double pass? I had my 5KX on a double pass (Nato) and it was VERY tall. Since I didn't like the look of it on the Natos, it's back to the OE bracelet. Maybe a Marine National strap would make it slimmer without sacrificing the look(if it's a double). My two Canadian cents

It’s a tool , tools get used , it’s only a Seiko 5 it’s not a Patek. Wear it out 🥁🎳
