Lots of great stuff being done by independents these days, Urwerk among them. I love the creativity and craft here, and reminds me to not take things too seriously in this hobby.

Do Ressence and F. P. Journe count? Cuz I love what they do. Urwerk definitely keeps it interesting, but I’ve yet to see one that I reeeeally like.

I am now exploring more independent watchmakers from the Netherlands. Christiaan van der Klaauw, Grönefeld etc!

I don’t particularly love Urwerk but I like other independents. Holthinrich and J.N. Shapiro come to mind as 2 that I’d love to own someday!

Hey glad you caught it! Was fun to chat with @Max, I hope you enjoyed the episode. Maybe it'll get posted round these parts but he'd be preaching to the choir, I suppose.
Holthinrich and J.N. Shapiro are doing amazing work as well (they would make for a sweet collab, now that I think of it... Halthinrich case with Shapiro dial?). Excited to see more from them both this year!
