Rereading this now I noticed that I yet again referenced my JLC Reverso. Three posts, three Reverso mentions.
I promise the next one will be Reverso-free.

Great post. Very thought provoking. I appreciate your perspective.
I agree with you pretty much on all counts, but I find looking at other people's SOTCs boring. Perhaps because the photography of a dozen watches is less good than focusing on one. Or perhaps because we're all internet strangers and there's no particular reason I should care about someone else's personal collection
But I agree with you about the discipline of collecting aspect

Agreed. Very few sotc s catch my attention. Primarily because the pictures focus more on covering all the watches in one shot rather than getting good shots of watches. Sometimes I can barely recognize the watch faces bcoz of the noise in he frame.

I can't tell if this is sarcasm. Where's the emojicon?

I do appreciate SOTCs at arm's length. But not all SOTCs are created equally, as I mentioned in my post. @TimeXbandit's Timex museum is a marvel to look at. He's got both focus and breadth with his Timex watches.

Hah. Funny. I thought this was how SOTCs were supposed to be done. I never questioned it. In my first SOTC I showed photos of the individual watches and shared their individual stories. I thought it was too long, to be honest.

I never get tired of the Reverso in all of its iterations. Everyone should agree. This is not sarcasm.

To be honest, me too. That's probably why I keep bringing it up.

Hmmm ok I didn’t add context. So I will try again. Your post is perfect. 3 watches all equally in focus non blurry pictures. So it’s easy to appreciate all 3 watches. But sometimes people post 15-18 even 20 watches in 1 single shot. Obviously it has to be shot from far or wide angle and it’s very difficult to clearly see the watches / dials etc, usually I don’t understand how to appreciate those posts.
Hopefully this clarifies. My comment was not on your post. My intention was not to cause confusion or hijack your post.

Oh no no. I apologize if my reply seems to negate your point. I was merely adding my own experience at attempting to do SOTC. Your point was well made the first time. I didn't think you were talking about my post but SOTCs in general.
Clearly there is room for innovation in the expectations of how we as a watch community do SOTC posts

Sorry, I meant to tag @TimexBadger, not that @TimeXbandit isn't worth following. But it's Stephen that deserves the praise for his Timex museum. Follow them both I say.
