Times had their California Dial Marlin on a NATO on sale for $130 a couple weeks ago. I took an 15% off by signing up for their emails. The Marlins on leather straps were still going for $200 so I thought this was a good deal and an affordable way to see if I like manual wind mechanicals. The NATO strap was ok, but decided to go with leather. Picked up a Hirsch strap on Holbein’s for $40, so all in I’m still under $200 retail for a hand wind marlin. Overall, I like this combo and I think it looks and feel great. So damn light! Thoughts?

Timex, California dial, Hirsch strap. California Dreaming. Back to the 60s. NICE
Smart pairing, and not the standard black/brown gives you an individual look 👍
Congrats on this sweet piece, enjoy!!

Thanks! I was looking at vintage watches at this estate place in Philly and between the prices and potentially expensive problems down the road, I just couldn’t justify the splurge. This is a nice way to do vintage at a very reasonable price.

Thanks! I liked the look of the green on the regular Marlin 34mm but not the lizard skin pattern. And the green is dark enough to pass as black in certain light.
I really like that.
Damn thats a really clean and cool looking Timex, love the sharpness of the California dial and the alpha/dauphine style hands
