I've always been interested in purpose-built watches, the opposite of a 3-handed GADA. The watches or special editions that were made for a niche activity, a specific scenario or even for a unique occupation. What's your favorite built for purpose watch, the one that best demonstrates "specificity?"

Literally everything about this watch is extremely well thought out and purposeful. Everything. This is a tooltastic as it gets, really.
A close, and I mean very close, second...
(In terms of its purposeful design)
Sinn EZM 12, designed for air rescue medics
Sinn EZM 7, designed for firefigthers
A very interesting and über specific complication:
The Universal Film Compax uses the outer scales to measure the amount of film a cinematographer is using.
The Abercrombie and Fitch (by Heuer) Seafarer is cool too:
Indicates the tides mechanically. Very clever.
Explorer 2 designed for people who explore caves ,so they know if it's day or night outside
This was literally released today - good timing!
From Monochrome:
"The Urwerk UR-100V LightSpeed, With An Unprecedented Space-Themed Display
Travelling at the speed of light, Urwerk’s latest model indicates the time taken for the Sun’s rays to reach the eight planets of our solar system."
That's an awesome story, I'd never heard of this one! Thank you for sharing 🍻

The film compax, another really good choice, I wasn't familiar with that one either. I love the idea of an obsolete technology (mechanical watch) built for another obsolete technology (film). It's like a time capsule!
I am a diver guy, but this was legit built to go to space (Omega X33)

I thought if that one too, great call!
Tudor FXD. Completely purpose built for underwater navigation.
