Hublot X Hodinkee
Ok, I have to ask. I typically don't like to poo poo all over a new release. As I know all watches aren't for everyone, but this just got me in the gullet..
After hearing so much about this watch, and all the hype behind it. And it's a watch they made to emulate their "loaner" quartz watch... IDK for 8K+ (after tax), I can't imagine any hip youngster is going to hop on something like this..
I could be way off, who knows. But I'm curious to hear additional thoughts..

People will buy it just to have something other people don't have.
I know this will sound odd in the watch community where everyone is expected to want the same watches as everyone else, but in the real world many people want something different or unique.
Why be random dude 300,432,187 with a Sub, when you can be one of 100 people on the planet with a different watch?

It's different alright..
First of all, this looks way better than any Santos I've seen.
Second, I feel like the dial text is a great joke on Hodinkee, whether they know it or not. Everyone knows that their limited editions are purely for speculation and that everyone orders then lists on eBay or wherever, as they are the Beanie Babies of the 2020's. So this is a great sense of humor, doubly good as it's on the dink's expense.
This is oddly tempting.

If it wasn’t a Hublot I’d think it’s quite a nice watch. Probably the specs and the finishing are garbage for the price though.

IDK why there'd be hate for Hublot, but Hodinkee is just a name you put on things in order to increase the price 30%. Between their $8K travel clock, and the cuck article, Hodinkee is just the butt of each joke in the community now. But to each their own.
