Watch Selling

Any advice on selling watches? Like most, I bought a bunch of watches when I first started and there are a few that I wish I didn't. All are in very good condition and with boxes and everything. Any sites people recommend?

I sell on eBay. The fees suck, but it is the most secure. You get what you pay for. Chrono 24 is ok. Not great, not the worst. Reddit is a cesspool. I wish there was a better place for us watch junkies to buy, sell, or trade.

If it’s an expensive watch, Chrono24 is a good option. Just do some research on an appropriate price and have patience. There’s lots of watches for sale on there.

If it’s a lesser expensive watch, consider giving it as a gift to someone younger to possibly spark an interest in the hobby or give it to a senior citizen who might no longer have the means to spend much money on a nice, but nonessential item. Just a thought…

Reddit really went to hell in the last few years. I wish they would put a for sale forum up here.

Ebay. Take good pictures, be honest, be willing to take a slight loss. Money in the bank is better than a watch you don't wear. Also you can use that money to buy a watch you will wear!

Nah, that's how the vibe goes downhill IMO.

Hate sauce and vitriol abound at both those (Watchuseek and Reddit) locales, not necessarily because of the B/S/T, but it def doesn't help.

I'm cool with using eBay for other stuff, be ok with it for watches.

This times 1000x. Just because it's a limited edition micro, and/or JDM, and/or with stickers on and a box/papers/full kit doesn't mean just taking $50 of the MSRP.

I have used a ton of eBay, don't mind best offer or buy it now, but I've never bought anything full price. My definition of lightly worn, isn't yours, and vice versa.

Honesty, good pictures without filters, in good light, and clean off the watch = guaranteed sell.

I’ve had ok success on Reddit in the past but not anymore. Those days are gone. I sell a lot of guitars and I’ve found the most success on Craig’s. Sold my Yema on Craig’s. It’s nice bc it’s more local and cash/trade.
