Rolex Explorer II 226570 Strap Recommendations?

Had the opportunity to compare my 226 to a 216 for the first time in the metal, and I have to say that the gloss/lacquered dial + underside AR makes a massive difference…especially in brightly-lit environments. It’s not quite as crystal clear as my PO with its double AR, but this is a welcome upgrade over the 216. I do wish that the floating hands were retained though!

👉👉👉Anyway, post topic: the gentleman wore his 216 on a nato, and it’s not something I would have considered previously…but I have to admit it didn’t look as terrible as I’d have expected; I’m tempted to explore what else is out there (pun intended). I’d appreciate photos of your 226s and 216s on aftermarket strap options for inspiration, especially if you’ve got slimmer wrists! Ta!

All the power to them, but when I see a $10K watch on a $10 nato, I immediately assume it is fake because 99 times out of 100 it is. The knock off brands’ bracelets tend to fall apart after a while and instead of having an obvious bad bracelet, they opt for an after market strap. Instagram and Reddit are littered with them.

Now, could it be the ultimate don't give a darn move and they wear what is comfortable? Sure and awesome, but sadly that has not been my experience in the wild. I like seeing people put them on high end rubber straps. Personally, I am not a fan of natos on most watches due to excess bulk, but again, what ever people like.

Yes, I’m not sold on natos — but seeing it in person opened me up to the possibility of having this watch on a strap, something I wouldn’t have considered before as it’s a larger watch. I’m looking for other strap options, not necessarily natos. Price (on either end of the spectrum) is less of a concern than quality, aesthetics and comfort. Thanks for the rubber strap recommendation — I’d love to see photos…

Rubber b fitted or Erika’s MN straps i reckon , on a watch of that calibre you want a premium strap not anything cheap & nasty ..

https://youtu.be/GZUNzCohN3w you should try these natos https://www.luffwatchstrap.com/ . They will change your views on natos completly! ✌️other straps i love are Bark & Jack straps https://barkandjack.com/ or the Zuludiver Straps on watchgecko https://www.watchgecko.com/
