For 2-3k, and first nice watch, I would actually head towards one of the new Longines master collection. My fave is the salmon dial. Yes, it’s a dress watch. But he’s not gonna swim with a leather strap :)

2 years ago I would have def answered Oris. But damn those Zulu times and those master collections have gotten to my heart. I’m actually going with Longines.
