Good morning dear friends! Proud to share with you the restoration I did to a watch identical to the one my father gave me in 1972 (I was 7) when he was recognized for 10 years of service as civil engineer in SIPOREX, a Swedish construction company. I gave the original watch to my brother. This watch reminds me of a happy childhood full of love and beautiful moments. Have a great day amigos!

Omega DeVille 1970 | Caliber: Omega 752 day-date pull crown adj (3rd generarion automatic 1967-1970) | 19,800 vph | PR: 50h | LA: 49 degrees | WR: splashes | LW: 20mm |

Amazing case 👌

Thank you. It is not very practical as you have to access the caliber through the acrylic crystal and pull the crown hard to get it out with the risk of breaking in half the delicate slotted stem.

·

That’s a beaut’! Is it opened from the front?

·

The case looks phenomenal Alfredo! Great call with the bullet bracelet 👌🏽. Nice job on the restoration 👏🏽. How long did that process take foe you? Ha e a good day.

Exactly....you take out the crystal, pull the stem out to release it from the caliber and then you can take the caliber out. The crystal has to be glued back and cured with black ultraviolet light as no O ring came with this particular model. Thank you!

Watch companies doing that should be banned. That sounds like such a pain in the ass. How on earth do you do that without damaging the dial?

Thank you Danilo....it took me arround two weeks as I had to replace the crown stem which was damaged on the tip as it has a slotted end to be pressed in into the caliber. Then I had to oil the jewels and adjust the beat. Then brush the case following a ciruclar pattern going from the center out to make shure they look straight, polish the crystal cured with black ultraviolet light and glue it back with non permanent transparent glue as it doesn't come orignially with an O ring. Finally, I had to brush the whole bracelet. Glad you liked the result! abrazo amigo!

Surprisingly once you pop the crystal out and manage to desengage the slotted stem by pulling gently the crown out, the dial and caliber comes out very easily. Handling the caliber with care is important as I didn´t want to take the hands out so I placed it on a bergeon support and worked on the other side where you have access to the balance wheel adjustment levers.

Forgot to tell you that in order to separate brushed and polished parts on the watch I used Bertech high temperature tape which covers perfectly the unwanted parts when brushing or polishing.

Thank you for your words dear Kostas. The most valuable watches are the ones we give or get from people we love as they are our and their representantion. Your daughter someday will remember how much they meant to you so they will mean a lot to her. Gracias amigo and all the blessings to you and your family!
