100-500$

You can certainly get Microbrand Automatics in that range...what is the best?

Or Orient, Timex etc

·

I'd say the Seagull ST19 is the prettiest.

I started with a Seiko 5. The Orient TriStar is also worth a look. I'm not too clued up or experienced with microbrands, so I don't know what to recommend on that front.

Orient probably

Try Jomashop. They’ll have a certina auto under $300. But they go fast.

Want a watch enthusiasts Auto?

Orient/Vostok in house movement, versatile, classic

Want a good starter watch?

Orient/Vostok

Like divers?

I'm not a Jedi but sensing a trend....🤔😉😂🤪🤘🏻🤙🏻

Seiko Series 5 Line is also good. Especially the "DressKX" for first watch.

Best full mech?

Pre faux patina lume Hammy Khaki Field Mech, used on ebay, sapphire, mech mvmnt, drilled

If you’re not averse to buying from Aliexpress, then I would suggest the Addiesdive MY-H2 Flieger with the sterile dial.

It goes for under $100. It features a solid stainless steel case, screwdown caseback, 200m water resistance, a sapphire crystal, screwdown crown and a relaible Seiko NH35 movement. It is decently finished too and the style is quite versatile. Dress it up with some vintage leather straps for more formal outfits or put it on a nato for more rugged adventures.

In my humble opinion? If your budget will stretch to it, Glycine offers the best bang for buck proposition on the market with the Combat Sub. No one else can match a Swiss Made, Sellita SW200-1 powered, sapphire crystal faced 200M WR dive watch at under 11mm thick and under $300.

Orient or Seiko 5

Hard to beat previous generation of Seiko 5s like the SNK809, which you could get for $100 a year ago and at one time $70
