Citizen Promaster Diver

A recent acquisition by my brother-in-law.

I think one of the mistakes we can make as watch lovers is often overlooking quartz watches.

I know I personally overlooked models like this Promaster Diver because it said ”eco-drive” on the dial and not automatic.

But when considering affordable divers this thing is hard to beat. The fit and finish is great for the money.

Quartz of awesome. Better in reliability, shock resistance, price, features, accuracy, weight and convenience.

I just was came from the mall and they have a very nice  Pro masters series display.

I own one. I can’t speak highly enough of it.

It's just an impression but I prefer eco-drive movements to classic solar movements just because it seems like it's a real original innovation. I said "seems like" because in fact the difference with the other solar movements is not big.

great watch by the way.

Fantastic watch. I have the black dial version and wore it 24hrs a day for maybe four years or so. Has stood up to some really hard use too, sailing &c. Second hand hits the marks exactly, lume is really good. It was only recently that I decided I'd like to have a few other watches for different occasions/looks. Your brother-in-law did the right thing ditching the strap for a nylon one though.

He changed that strap the second he got the watch.

He wore an orient mako II as his daily watch for a year or so, but working construction the watch took a beating. It runs a few minutes fast a day as a result.

The citizen was a great choice to replace it as his daily.
