New Tissot PRX green dial quarts

I recently purchased this PRX quartz movement afew days ago really like it but am considering returning it to exchange it for the Powermatic auto movement. Should I keep this one or would anyone recommend going with the automatic version

I have the Auto and love it for the waffle dial. The quartz is a better value with more colorways and smaller size. Mine is at the max of what my 6.5" wrist can handle.

I always prefer to go for an automatic over a quartz but the steep price difference between the quartz and automatic was a major reason for going for the quartz. Would you say that the extra 280 or so is worth the switch to automatic?

The waffle dial sold the automatic version for me. I do also like autos more, but it’s an expensive taste, as you’re paying $300 more for just these 2 things. If you are indifferent towards automatics and don’t care about the waffle pattern, probably you can just stay with the quartz version. It’s a killer watch anyways.

My take is that even though we tend to prefer automatics, the main thing should be do we want to enjoy wearing the watch? If so, wearability should be your focus. For me even the auto and quartz versions are the same price, I’ll still go with the quartz simply because of its sizing, hence wearability. The watch in the picture suits you perfectly. Enjoy in good health.

I really do enjoy the watch but one thing I’ve noticed and this is gonna sound really nit picky but the second hand is not in alignment. Would you happen to know if or how that can be fixed?

Listen! Watches are personal choices! If you love the quartz? Treasure it. I also have that same model!

The waffle dial isn't even special enough to justify the huge premium on the automatic. Absolutely nothing wrong with a quartz. You'll learn to eventually appreciate the better accuracy, convenience and cheaper service cost of owning one. Take it from a convert.

It’s not nit picky at all. Have the same issue with mine and I’d rather not. One solution might be taking off the seconds hand, but might ruin the aesthetics. An auto version is on the way soon though; apparently with the waffle dial too.

No. I had the blue powermatic, and while it looked nice, I regretted not going for the quartz for this particular watch. The crown is awful (like the worst) to operate, and the movement is a “never again” for me. Winding is unrefined, and the reversing wheel got stuck three times for me in 2 different examples. Also, the powermatic can’t be regulated and both my examples were -5 to -10s/day. I hate “slow” movements as they are a pain to reset. So, go hassle-free and keep the quartz for this specific watch. My two cents.

I choose the quartz over the auto. The sunburst dial and the thinner profile where the deciding factors for me.

·

Am I the only person that prefers the sunburst dial to the waffle? 😂 Something about it just seems to work better with that 70’s/80’s design better… to me anyway.

I’m a tool watch guy, but even I’ve been seduced by the siren song of the blue dial Quartz PRX, I’ll definitely be getting one as soon as funds allow.

Quartz is the way to go all day long. Pretty much the same look as the automatic with better time keeping and no expensive servicing.

Less text on the dial. The quartz dial looks cleaner.
