Do ya’ll check out people’s wrist to try to get a closer look at what kind of watch they’re wearing?

So I was in a line at Disneyland waiting to get on a ride. As the line snaked through the ride entrance I noticed a guy wearing a speedy. All I said was “is that a speedy?” And he said “yeah” with a smile lol. I was going to ask him if he was a fellow cruncher but at this point I could tell my wife was embarrassed at the nerd that I am. So I just said nice watch and moved through the line. So my question is, do. Y’all check out wrists out in the wild if you see that it may be a cool or interesting watch?

If I happen to notice a non-wrist computer, I might ask about it.

But I don't stare at wrists.

@UnholiestJedi I wouldn’t say I stare. I’m just a pretty observant person so I tend to get curious of a watch on someone’s wrist if it captures my eye from a distance.

In a world where people wore watches, I might.

Be honest... wrists just happen to be about the same level as what you're actually looking at. 😉🤣

Not gonna lie. A belt buckle can be a beautiful thing.

@UnholiestJedi that’s a different poll entirely.

·

Of course, I thought everyone did?! 🙄🤣

I usually check what others are wearing if they do, but i've never asked a stranger about their watch so far (and I don't see it happening anytime soon, maybe in some specific circumstances).

·

I check out a person's watch and try to identify it, without being obvious about it.

Nope! I can barely handle the conversation on here, I would literally pretend not to speak the same language if someone tried to talk watches with me. 🌈 90% of the conversation is bragging or flexing and that is super uninteresting to me. I do talk to other veterans when I see them because we have a shared experience with interesting stories to tell. Only my opinion 💪

As a frequent Disney visitor, I’ve been known to chat up strangers about watches while there. I’ve no shame with it.

Yikes! If I thought 90% of the people whose watch I commented on would respond by bragging or flexing I would pretend to speak another language too. Fortunately that hasn't been anything close to my experience irl but what do I know I'm just a civilian.

@FlatteryCamp can I also say that I’ve experienced ZERO negativity on this platform? This might be the most positive social media platform on the internet.

Who would have thought? 🤷🏻‍♂️ lol

I said it was super uninteresting, you can associate that with negativity if you like but I think the two are different. I thought lol 🌈

I will absolutely perv on other people's wrists. Saw a watch twin while boxing Day shopping. Was about to tell him something and then decided otherwise.

@nicely they are different. I was just piggybacking off of @FlatteryCamp ‘s comment that he’s fortunate that no one has bragged or flexed when commenting on their watch. I guess what I’m trying to say is that even differences in opinion are recieved well on this platform. 🤙🏻

I can explain. In my opinion, veterans who have fought in Iraq and Afghanistan share an infinitely more profound and meaningful and interesting history and bond than two people who like the same watch. Veterans have earned this, worked for it, done something. You seemed offended with the civilian comment so I hope this clears it up. 🌈

Thanks for the lecture. Most of the combat veterans in my family are waaay more humble about their service and don't flex where they served. You have no idea how much money my wife and have raised for veterans or how we've spent decades serving our community as first responders. Get over yourself so I can get back to the 90% of veterans who don't throw their service in the faces of those who've served their community in other ways. We good?

Hold on now, all I said was when I see veterans in public I will talk to them. No flexing whatsoever but you made a smart ass comment “I’m a civilian what do I know?” So I let you know and now you’re mad at me? Honestly if you’ve spent so many years around first responders and veterans I’m surprised you wouldn’t understand that veterans will have a stronger bond than two people who like the same watch, no? I have spoken to you with respect never saying get over yourself and JUST because I find flexing uninteresting you have a problem with me. Well guess what I am a war vet and I earned the right to say it and if you don’t like that so what. Oh you don’t mind if someone brags about a 10K watch but don’t even talk about risking your life in war for your country LOL uh, we good? 🌈

You soundl like a fake ass stolen valor kook. I worked as a civilian contractor on a military base for years and never heard a real war veteran boast like you're doing. This is a watch platform, if you don't like watch people or "10K watches" then GTFOH. Go play hero somewhere where someone may believe your fantasy Rambo BS. You got checked for bad mouthing "90%" of the watch people on a watch forum and then claim you talked with respect and now I've been living rent free in your head for two days for not agreeing with you. If you can't handle someone saying they had a different experience than you than you're way too soft to be representing that you "served" anything but ice cream. You're not gonna bully your way into being respected by acting like a clown. Yup we're good unless you want to keep sniveling, gas lighting and backpedaling...hero.

Rent free 😁 when other people read this they are going to see that you are definitely not right in the head. You make no sense at all. You get more angry every time you reply, this is because you are afraid. No one else had a problem with what I said, only you. You’re trying to get offended and it shows, this is very needy and immature. You yell like I imagine a child would yell when they don’t get their way. Your posts are the writings of someone who has completely lost their cool 😂 you should get help sir or ma’am.

Only one of us cares what other people think and the other one is anonymous. Feel free to continue making up stories about what you've done or where you've been. You are 100% one of those Stolen Valor kooks.

All the time! Normally I can tell from a mile with my eagle eyes but when I can't... That's when I say "Hey, nice watch". Hoping they don't snarl at me and I don't have to knock em out.
