I'm looking to buy my father a birth-year watch (1950s) to celebrate his retirement.
Likely gold, manual wind but open to automatics too.
I know Omegas from the 50s/60s were pretty well made, but I don't really know how solid Zenith were back then. Looking at a few calibres it seems omega were really doing some nice things, but the Zeniths seem a little less decorated, and I wonder if they might be a little less reliable.
Anyone with any experience of 50s/60s omegas/zeniths, any calibres to look out for or avoid, I'd love to hear from you.

They are both easy to find. But I feel the #vintage #omega are easier to authenticate
