It's a 14mm thick watch. And yes it has a 'crater' effect because as the El Primero movement is famously small (to fit a 37mm round watch creating a perfectly balanced dial). So for this 42mm Big Blue TV Square, the 'crater effect' mitigates that - I think they did a perfect job.
