Watch collecting questions

Currently I have figured out my last two watches that I am going to collect for now. My question is do some of you all collecting watches to collect or do you have a goal in mind.

Oh boy, here we go. You’ll get a ton of different answers as everybody is a little different.
I don’t really have a goal other than to buy the watches I like and can afford. As such, I’m always saving for something. Sometimes that watch changes before I’ve saved enough for it. I eat away at that money by buying less expensive watches from time to time.
I guess some people like the discipline of a specific strategy, but I just go with the flow.
No real goal in mind. But every once in a while a watch comes along that you feel you must have. That becomes a goal of sorts. For me right now that goal is a Pepsi GMT II. I know it’s not a new watch by any means, but my wanting it has only been a couple months.
I’ve got plans but I’ve also got distractions.
I just like watches!, what started it was the history for me, from key wound, crown wound, Automatics, Electric watches with a balance wheel and a battery!, to tuning fork hummers, LED Quartz watches, LCD watches, all those companies competing, bringing out different ways to measure time, Love it!, it's a fascinating hobby!, I have No idea what I'm going to buy next I've kind of moved on from vintage relics but I'm all over the show with my collection and just buy what I like the look of.
I definitely have a plan and a goal with my collection; I plan to buy more watches with the goal of having a collection of watches! 🤣
Thank you everyone for your replies. I enjoy reading other people's thoughts on watch collecting. For me, I think it boils down to having watches I don't wear. Currently I have 12 but in reality I wear maybe 6. Garmin Fenix 5x plus, Citizen Promaster NY0085, Orient Neptune, Casio World Timer, Seiko Presage Cocktail and Orient defender 2. I wonder if I'm the only one who feels like having watches that you don't wear kind of clutters your collection.
