I saved someone’s life in this watch: Hamilton khaki field Ti review

If you think of a capable watch for any sort of crazy situation that might arise one might go to a field watch and for good reason. If these type of watches can faithfully serve in the hands on militaries during some of the worlds heaviest warfare then surly they can handle whatever you throw at it in everyday civilian life. I am a doctor of physical therapy and I wanted to treat myself the best way I knew how when I earned my white coat, buying a watch. I went for a brand that is well regarded as one of the best Swiss watches one can get without breaking the bank, a Hamilton khaki field. Mine was a special edition that was in titanium and was automatic. It was a bit larger than a standard kahki field as well at 41mm and looked far more tactical as it had a blacked out dial, a black textile strap, and a blacked out PVD case. This watch looks like it was made for solid snake himself, which was perfect because I didn’t know it hey but I was going to save someone’s life in this watch. It has a retail price of 1000 dollars even but I was able to pick it up on jomashop for right around 600

Fast forward a few years here I am working as a pediatric physical therapist in the beautiful city of Anchorage Alaska, where surprise surprise the crime rate is incredibly high. You’re not going to get your watch nicked here like you are in London it is mostly homeless and homeless crime here. The problem is we have a different breed of hobo. These homeless live in the freezing cold and chop each other up with machetes.

one day while at work I was in the middle of working with a 1 year old patient playing a game revolving baby shark or something of that like when the front desk staff run up and start screaming at me to get outside. A crazy man was attacking one of my patients mothers in the parking lot. I ran outside and told him to get the F out of here and to my surprise he squared up with me. This was a mistake as I am an ex professional mma fighter. They threw 3-4 punches which all missed and I took his back and took them down. I thought they might have a knife so I pretty quickly jacked his hands up his back and held him there. I found this whole scenario so funny and unexpected that I had to let me wife know so I sent her this text in real time.

I didn’t even realize till later that I captured my trusty Hamilton khaki field titanium in the photo

This watch indeed was capable of a real life tactical situation. The titanium was so light I did not even feel it on wrist when I had to shoot a double leg takedown. The contrast of the white numerals on the black mat dial was so legible it was easy to tell how long I was on the attackers back before the police showed up, which was 20 whole minutes. Thanks Anchorage for the timely response.

I can’t think of a better watch to have had on wrist for the situation and now it’s something I will always remember when I have this watch on wrist.

Hopefully you don’t need to save someone’s life while wearing one of your watches but just incase the Hamilton khaki field has you covered

Amazing!

Thank you! Glad I had this watch on for this crazy occurrence

Don’t think we’ll ever see a boss-level story like that again here at WC. The text update was great! Very few martial artists get to use their training in real world situations—or their field watches!😉

thank you 😂 no most likely not, I feel like I bring a different energy than most in the watch space but even this surprised me. It shows that most things happen truly when you least expect it. Middle of the work day, broad daylight, no alcohol involved; something truly unprovoked. Please consider checking out and subscribing to my YouTube channel I’d love to have you aboard there and that’s my main platform.

When I noticed I caught the wrist shot later I laughed real hard. Good test for both myself and the watch.

That’s amazing 👏. Wel done it makes me really happy that I’ve got the same watch even if I’mnot able to do that. 👏👏

You'll fit in WC well if you're looking for other watch-folks with 'save a life' energy.

Most on here keep their amazing lives low-key, but I've been here for long enough now to know there are many Crunchers out there saving lives both directly and indirectly. They may not be fighting homeless folks like yourself, but they are quietly and humbly doing their thing and generally being awesome humans. 🍻

Watch people are the best people!

(And nice watch!)

Wow! That woman was very lucky that you had your Hamilton on this day! I don’t even wanna think about what could have happened to her if you were wearing a less tactical watch that day! 🙄

Seriously, what is this post about? Is it a watch review or is you bragging about how you pinnend down an untrained person that weights 40 pounds less than you?

Amazing story. I own this watch as well.
