So I bought all these in the last three months...

...and have one more in the post. Only other thing I ever collected was comics when I was a child. Not made of money so I'm going to have to stop but worried I'm kidding myself. Is there a rehab unit for the watch addict? Scary thing is the only aviation watches that grab me now start at eight grand!!! They don't grab me that much so where next?

Have you looked at Laco? They do a lovely Fliegar in the Augsberg? You can pick them up for a few hundred on secondary market. Either that or Ali express for homages!

I bought this 5 in one week…

And got another one a day after…

There’s no Help for us!! Just enjoy them 😁😉

·

Blimey, I'd say STOP!!

Save & aim higher. It's easy and common to accumulate a lot of average cheaper watches, I'd say save up & get what you really want !

·

Take a break. You're falling into the buying addiction trap and hoarding more of the same instead of appreciating what you have.

You don't need to own every sub $300 flieger on the market. You can appreciate pilot watches without compulsively buying all of them. Quality over quantity, always.

Already have the Munster. First one I bought! I think the Hruodland came from Aliexpress originally. Amazing quality!!!

Trouble is I really wanted these and love them all. Can't see me selling them. Just adding to them!!🙏

The only one in the collection that doesn't have any pedigree in the Hruodland which is a copy of a IWC turbine of which there are only about 60 in existence. What's annoying about that is the quality is amazing and it hasn't lost or gained a second over the week I've had it so it's more accurate that the watch it's homaging!!!😬

I haven't spent as much as you which is making me feel better.🥺

Part of the addiction I'm afraid. 🤣

Took me a while to realise I didn't need to own every watch I wanted . 🤑

Have fun 👍🏻👍🏻

I think I'm quite picky!! Two A dials with VERY different cases from different periods. Two B dials also nothing like each other. One bronze and a Metronome(couldn't resist). That said, if I see an amazing deal on an aviation watch - under a hundred pounds - I'll do it.

·

Can your Seiko metronome be heard in a large room?

Or while out walking? I like the idea of walking to a beat.😀🏞

Nice collection you have built so far. You are asking yourself the right questions about your collecting habits. Collection obsession is common. Wines, perfumes, models, knives... etc etc etc

I have an addictive personality.😉

Self examination is useful.

Only buy what you can afford.

I'm a musician so it's loud enough to practice alone with. Won't compete with much more noise. I love the uniqueness and it's quite Bauhaus to look at.

Not spent what I haven't got in years. In fact I recently gave up some very old addictions including alcohol which has made affording these quite easy!!!

To commit to maintaining my bank account, I bought 1 watch one box with 12 slots. I've filled the slots and commit to selling a watch every time I decide to buy a watch. My second commitment is not to run a balance on my credit card for a watch. I can pay for it with the credit card, but I must pony up the cash when the bill comes. So far so good.

Laco Lumes are pretty cool. Here my Laco Kempten 39mm

I'm very happy to say I've not spent a penny I haven't got yet - not my style. I gave up alcohol(and other addictions) some time ago and found myself able to afford things quite easily as long as I wasn't aiming at Breguets etc. The box thing is a great idea but I don't think I'll get to twelve as there aren't that many I like outside aviation watches. I've seen Leica watches and Reservoir but can live without them. An IWC would be nice but the idea of a watch that costs more than my car is too much. When I found out a Type XXI Breguet cost three thousand pounds to service I decided to try and earn a lot more money and am working on it but that's a long way off!!!😂

Funny you mentioned having money after stopping alcohol use. I quit a 35 years cigarettes habit and find myself having an extra $250 bucks a month (yes, I used to smoke a lot). It funds my watch obsession. Another revelation that I discovered in my collecting journey is that by actively wearing every watch in my box curves the desire to go online and look for a new piece. I think I've got it under control now. I think you've already set the necessary road blocks in keeping yourself from going over board.👍

Ha! I'm down to vaping which is a big saving in itself! I LOVE wearing these watches!! I'm trying to be strict with my provisos for them. They're got to have a strong historical connection with military conflict - that pares it down a bit. Still feel vulnerable looking at type XXs and dirty dozens. I guess I'll see if I'm under control over the next few months but not waiting for a watch to arrive will wind me up.

I've been eyeing the XX too. Couldn't pony up $5k+ for it though. Since you're interested in military, check out the watches for the land and water branches. CWC, Doxa. They won't break the bank.

Gotta be aviation!

For a pilot watch that’s a little less known why not check out Ollech & Wajs.

Well under 8000 and they look great this is my OW P-101. The lume looks great to.
