Probably worthless but still intriguing.

In the late 90s I had an MGvvc. Turned out to be the worst car I ever owned but I loved it. Must have bought this around the same time. Bracelet's broken but still looks okay. Haven't seen many Chrono versions on the net so wondered if anybody has idea on who made it. I'm guessing 36mm. Going to try and get it resurrected. Might look good with a nice strap.

Would look very nice with a leather strap 👍🏻

pop the back and get a replacement movement as they are cheap if quartz.

A few years ago I bought my partner a ‘96 MGF for a significant birthday. Last year we took it for a very nice jolly to Bilbao, and then to the Picos de Europa. We had a brilliant time. Back home we were just pulling onto the drive when - oh dear - the clutch slave cylinder went. When they’re sorted they are still great cars. Surprisingly quick too.

The MG Owners Club magazine lists watches with ‘MG’ on the dial, made by Sekonda.

Do let me know if you decide not to proceed with your refurbishment! I would be honoured to wear it in the MGF (my dear lady refuses to wear a watch 🤔).

Ha! All us MG owners have stories. Before we were married we drove down to the South of France along the Alps to a friend's place in Monte Carlo. Had a great time after which I wanted to dine in a particular restaurant in Paris for our last night. We drove from Monte Carlo to Paris in "eight hours"!! Yes it was quick but I'll never forget getting it back to London with a stream of smoke coming out the back. Car had to have a complete engine refit!! I'll probably keep the watch. ;)
