New Seiko 5 GMTs - "Real" or Not?

I'm not a huge fan of GMTs in general, but I do like the Seiko 5 series divers, and some of the sports models. Can someone clarify, what's the difference between a "real" GMT as opposed to...a "fake" one? This makes me laugh out loud, akin to the quartz v. mechanical argument, or say other questions that matter, like are socks only "real" if they're made of wool?

Photo snipped from Seiko's website, I don't own them.

I am not super into GMT watches as I usually don’t care about the time at home when I travel. But when I do jump time zones it is usually on a plane, where I have plenty of time to kill. Taking an extra minute to reset the time doesn’t bother me much. The one time I do really like a jump hour is on a high accuracy Quartz watch. In that case the allure is that you only have to set the watch once every year or two, so having to reset it every time I travel would mean I couldn’t track its seconds per year accuracy

I'm going to try and snag one when they launch in the US, just not sure what color.

There's an orange one too....should be a great seller!

Will likely pick one up in the search to fill the GMT spot in my collection.

With ya on that.  Not a big GMT guy but at that price could definitely add one to the quiver
