Thoughts on a date window lume

So, I’m looking at the dial on my orient Kamasu after it was freshly lumed and I thought, I wonder what it would look like if the borders around the date and day window also had lume on it. I know the borders are small, so applying lume would probably be a challenge.

But, imagine if it had lume and the lume was strong; one it would make it more symmetrical when the dial is lumed up and two, maybe you would be able to see the day and date in the dark. 1st world problems, I know.

For those who don’t care for dates on your watch, this thought is probably the last thing you would ever think of. But for those who like date windows, I’m curious if I’m alone in thinking about this and does anyone know of a watch with this feature? Other than fully lumed dials.

Things that make you go hmmm…

These are pics found online. I have the watch, and in reality the dial is small and the lume is not strong in my opinion.

I was actually thinking that a lumed date wheel would work, but then what do we do if we want to color match the wheel to the dial? Maybe lumed numbers on the wheel.

But this is great seeing it in the wild! Your seestern has the symmetry I’m talking about.

Touché mate. I think lumed frame for the date window n lumed date n numbers would match perfectly with the lumed indices on the dial... 😁

Imagine the dial in pitch black with only all of these lume shining through... Utter legit legibility... 😍
