Finally a THORN

It’s been years since I wanted to own a THORN.

Finally, it is on my wrist. I have to say that in the positive side, it is extremely beautiful, NH35, amazing lume, great craftsmanship and really looks like a luxury watch that you will pay thousands of dollars for… on the negative side… I am so sick with misaligned ligned bezels. Why would you even sell a tool that is immaculately crafted but cheapen out or become so lazy to fit the parts properly so the tool would do it’s job?

I have to wedge the bezel to align it as it wont be exactly on mark in its resting position, so of course eases out rotating to rest in a groove.

I am extremely happy with the watch and don’t want someone’s laziness ruin this experience for me. Do you have any suggestions of what can be done with the method to achieve it gentlemen?

There are a few easy methods to soften the adhesive holding the bezel insert and reposition/replace it without damaging it - with or without popping the bezel out - using either grip solvent or hot water. You can find many such tips on YouTube for detailed instructions.

As for the watch, it looks great albeit a little on the nose as far as homages go, with a name and logo resembling the Tudor rose on top of the watch design. 😉

I think I will actually do that! My only fear is to ruin it as I have never done adhesives on watches before but I will definitely look at some videos and work it out if it bugged me more!

Yup, and guess where you can find a thorn too? 😉🌻

It is amazing! I am so surprised the one I got has this bezel misalignment issue. The watch looks way better in person and looks and feels like a multy thousand dollar watch.

The solvent with the least potential to hurt the paint ( or other organic material such as a bezel gasket potentially under the bezel) is to dip a slightly frayed wooden toothpick in Rubbing Alcohol and allow it to wick around the outer edge between the bezel an insert. Do a couple passes around the whole circle. Wait 10 or 20 minutes- then try to gently pry at the insert with a sharp piece of plastic or wood. If it does not freely lift, do another round of alcohol- repeat. You can buy 3M bezel adhesion ring stickers online to fit it back into place.

Thank you so much Tim!!

It’s really bugging me and I was searching for the lowest risk solution and I believe you got it. I was concerned about the lume pip as I don’t lnow how is it stuck on in this model and I didn’t want to take the bezel off as I don’t know if it would have any special springs that will make a bigger problem. I them searched for 3M ring stickers on Amazon but I didn’t find any (don’t know if I didn’t put in the right keywords tho). But what you said is the perfect solution and I will act as soon as I find the 3M ring with the right measurements.

Again thank you so much gentleman.

Buy a few to allow for a learning experience or two. make sure all surfaces are free of old adhesive and super clean. Peel and stick to underside of the insert first- learned this lesson twice.

oh and sorry to nerd out... When you go to place it back in- I make little masking tape handles that stick to the top on each side so I can control the lowering in. This way you can nail it dead center,

Oh please nerd out all you want man!

I really appreciate every single comment or guidance you give me. Please share whatever you want because that teaches me more and ensures that the task will be done better. So I thought I would hold thw bwze with two pieces of rodico for percise yet easy application. But the tape will make it more secure -and I believe- even easier to manipulate and maneuver. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
