Hello, everyone. Here’s my story of why I’ve decided to start collecting solid gold watches. I don’t even know if it’s really collecting. I only have 3 solid gold watches. It’s Rolex daydate ref 18038, Rolex datejust 16018 and vintage omega constellation. i really don’t have a good reason. i just love how it looks and it feels on my wrist. I want to know what’s your reason behind your collections.

Those look great. Stainless steel watches fit my casual lifestyle more than solid gold, so I currently don't have gold watches in my collection. I love the look of gold and black together, so I can see myself possibly adding a solid gold watch with a black dial to my collection if the right one came around. Those champagne colored dials also look great with gold, but I find the contrast of the hands to the dial to be an issue.
Gold is less ostentatious than stainless steel; change my mind😤
But seriously, it’s underrated and you’re just buying and wearing what you like. I want to add a YG piece on a bracelet to my collection.

I used to think that too that stainless watch fit my life better because I don’t dress up a lot. You know what I realized, I can wear my gold watch with a jogger and white tshirt. It’s not too showy especially if it’s solid gold.
Also, maybe you right about my omega with the Black hands with textured hands. However, when I wear it on my wrist, it doesn’t really bother me that much. Its awesome to have this watch in my collection. Cheers!!

you are right about solid Gold watch are less ostentatious. I used to think that I have to have a stainless watch (Rolex sub, an explorer, datejust or a gmt to have) in my collection. Those watches didn’t make me happy at all. So I started to look at gold pieces. There’s really something special about it. I just can’t explain it. It put a smile on my face everytime I look at my wrist. cheers!

Solid gold with black dial 😏
I have an 18038 and it’s THE BEST summer watch. I feel like I’m in LA whenever I wear it and like it best with pink.
Due to trends it was cheaper than equivalents in stainless steel.
seemed a no brainer to me.
it was important to me to get the 18038 due to the sapphire and the single quickset.
Love the Gold Jubilee bracelet! Trying to find a vintage one for my 1803. But so hard to find !
Gorgeous dial on the OC !interesting i have the same 2 but steel and white gold for the 1601 and 14k plated for the Constellation .
@Val4930 weirder even that we have the same car ( i can tell from the stitching and the carpets ) 😂
