To start this final day of 2023 (hush you Aussies & New Zealanders ๐Ÿ˜‰), I am sporting my wooden watch I received on our 5th wedding anniversary from my wife.

It contains the most basic quartz movement, it's not particularly robust, 0M WR, no AR coating & lacks indices so telling an exact time is challenging.

I still love it and it will never leave my collection, even though it gets wrist time about every 2 months.

What is one of your watches that you love even though it doesn't make much sense from a spec or aesthetic POV?

I guess with me, it's my cheapest watch.. a white plastic Casio that cost me all of ยฃ15. When I strap this on my wrist, I know summer has arrived

I am wearing it's cousin right now as part of the #watchjourney2023 and understand the appeal.

Hope your New Year is a great one!

The watch my wife gave me on our wedding day, a two tone Gucci watch that I wore the gold tone almost completely off and no longer works. I keep it in a case with all of her watch gifts. Todd, I hope the New Year brings you a happy, healthy and prosperous one for you and your loved ones!

Iโ€™m in the same boat as you haha, my wife got me an Original Grain wooden watch our first Christmas when we were dating, and even though itโ€™s too big and rather uncomfortable if Iโ€™m honest. But itโ€™s the one I wear for date nights and means a lot to me (and her!). She always comments how proud she was of that gift when she sees it on wrist. โค๏ธ
