Quest for TI DIGITAL watch.

Ok, folks, I am on a quest for a "vintage digital timepiece" 🤣 from my childhood! The picture below is one that I found on the internet. I am looking for a TEXAS INSTRUMENTS DIGITAL LCD WATCH SERIES 550 from circa 1978-1979. I checked EBay and Etsy, no result. I saw one that had been for sale, but sold. Can anyone help me find one of these watches for sale? EDIT: To clarify, I just need a point in the right direction. The URL of a good vintage watch website, etc. Just whatever helpful tidbit you can rattle off in a sentence or two. 🙂

Thanks in advance for all of your help! 😀

Good luck! I've been looking for a certain watch for awhile. It's goug to be harder for you because of the age and disposable attitude with an old digital watch.

Try Poshmark and check out their watches.

Cheers!

I thought you were joking. But I'm not sure what the going rate for something like that is? Considering that the watch is basically worthless except for its sentimental value, I'm not sure what an appropriate fee would be? If you have one to sell, I'd buy it from you. If you know the URLs of any good vintage watch sellers, I'd appreciate the link. But I wasn't really expecting to hire a "private watch detective" to track it down. I'm not being sarcastic when I ask: are finder's fees really a thing in the watch world? I'm totally new in the watch collecting hobby, so forgive my ignorance. But if that really is a thing, I doubt I can afford to pay someone like yourself to track it down. As I said above, the watch isn't really worth anything aside from sentimental value.

Sorry, but I think you are going to have a hard time with this one. This is as close as I have been able to get in my collection.

These are the TI digital watches I have located for my own collection. I will keep an eye out for you and let you know, but 550s in working order don't show up often.

Maybe the owner of this channel can help? He's specializes in digital watches: https://youtube.com/@IlluminatingWatches

Wow I didn't even know Texas instruments made watches! That watch looks cool, like the robot from the day the earth stood still. It would look awesome in brushed steel.
