SOTC Update

Hey watch fam! Overdue for a post. Some new adds to my collection from recent trip in Japan.

The Zenith A385 - 37m - super thin - killer dial. Love this thing and the wearability and case shape. The clasp, however, is super bad! Tinny and cheap feeling. Not OK for an almost 10K watch. Also basically lost 40% value on leaving the shop! Ok as I don't plan on selling it ever, but still a little annoying. Should have bought used.

The Grand Seiko SBGH317 (Ginza Edition) is a limited edition only available in Tokyo's Ginza district where the Seiko HQ, museum and flagship boutique is located. Limited to 530 pieces it is 40mm in diameter and 12.9mm thick. The dial is meant to represent the grid of buildings/streets of Ginza. The dial is so gorgeous. It wears super well and my only gripe is no micro-adjustments on the bracelet. It features the hi-beat 9S85 movement (sadly not the newer 9SA5 with dual-impulse escapement & 80 hours power reserve). My first GS and definitely not the last. Amazingly was yesterday at Watches & Wonders in Geneva where I literally met the guy who designed the dial at a Grand Seiko press conference. Small world!

Finally the Tudor Black Bay 36 two-tone/silver dial. Sort of scratches my Datejust itch while waiting for a Datejust! A really good GADA watch with a bit more bling than the BB54 or BB58. Super solid.

Incredible watches. Standouts for me….. the zenith Chrono in that dial colour 👌🏻…. 2 tone explorer….and it’s Tudor counterpart…. Plus a Tudor sub…. Lovely stuff
