2/2/2013 Chris Kyle passed away. A RESCO Patriot Gen One wearing original
Kris Kyle was gifted a RESCO Patriot Gen One by Rob & Nicole Smith Founders of RESCO Instruments. He was often photographed wearing a Gen One Patriot. If you are looking for a US Made Swiss Movement diver that's not your run of the mill watch RESCO Instruments is worth checking out. I love mine: pictured is my Gen One and a Springfield TRP . Kris was a TRP fan. Many thanks to John @Yonder for reminding me to post on why I was wearing my Patriot today

160 confirmed kills. Damn. My brother, a veteran of the marines, did three tours in Afghanistan. He was in the infantry. A machine gunner. I believe he carried the ‘saw’ machine gun, whatever that is. He told me despite all the lead he threw towards enemies, he didn’t have one confirmed kill. And stated that’s the norm with most soldiers and marines on the front lines.
I attended his funeral with a veteran group I was part of at the time. We were part of the funeral procession from the Cowboy Stadium. It was bonkers how many people were there. In the evening I had to ride my motorcycle back down to Fort Hood in freezing rain. What a miserable day.

The reason for Mr. Kyle being murdered is bizarre. The murderer is a complete nut case. I forgot about this case. Had to research it again, and was both puzzled and shocked after reading the motive.

Incredible experience in your life. I'm sure we would both have it a different way = memorable for a life lived to 100 but this is life

Yeah, there was a lot of craziness and conspiracies surrounding it all.
I love the Veteran connection to the Resco brand and to Chris Kyle (I am a Veteran as well). I looked at the Resco website and I think they are way overpriced for the specs they offer. They look like fine and well-built watches.

No doubt about the price versus specs. This is a niche micro brand aftetall. IMO you can't buy RESCO with reason or value. So many great micro brands with tremendous value. My watch is a Gen One Patriot. The price point was lower. I think there is a banner or the website that automatically gives 15% off: not sure about that marketing move. Still, it's pricey.

Thanks Kostas. Kyle was a SEAL sniper who was killed by another Veteran he was helping after he retired. Rob Smith started RESCO while still on Active Duty as a SEAL. RESCO is an interesting little micrbrand. There are other micros I think are more compelling for specs and price. RESCO Instruments makes niche pieces. I do enjoy your insights on watches and collection Brother!
