I bought two beverage related watches in a week

Before Windup, I had precisely zero beverage-related watches. After Windup, I had two. How did this happen? I'm not sure. Do I see any other beverage-related watch purchases in my future? Doubtful, but I didn't see two in my future a week or so ago either.

The Alinghi Red Bull FXD had been on my radar since it had been announced, but I hadn't even tried on an FXD in any configuration until trying one of Blake Buettner's on at Windup. I went to the Tudor boutique the next day and they initially told me they didn't have any version whatsoever. I had been on their list for the black model and had been offered it twice, but had turned it down because I lived far enough away that I couldn't just make the trip on the chance I would like it.

The saleswoman who had offerred them to me, was working and I informed her that I'd also like to be considered for the Red Bull one. A few minutes later she comes back and says they had this one set aside for a customer and he declined, so it was mine if I wanted to buy it then.

Yes, it would be great if the rehaut text wasn't there, but I barely notice it and the rest of the design is compelling enough for me to overlook it.

At the show, I had tried on the Dr Pepper Jack Mason LE and while I liked it, for some reason I wasn't compelled to buy it right then. Peter even gave me one of the actual DP cans to drink (which was greatly needed at that point). Something changed in the few days following the show and I ended up ordering one on Tuesday which I received on Friday.

I'm from Texas and although I rarely drink soda these days (or cokes as we often refer to all sodas in Texas), my go to was always Dr Pepper. Between that and my desire to give one of these new Miyota-based GMTs a try, it made sense.

So here I am with two very different but beverage-related watches. Now to resist the temptation to buy one of the the Coco-cola GShocks.

Nice. Which one has been getting more wrist time? When I get a new watch it usually doesn't leave my wrist for 4-6 weeks.

Well, I've had the Tudor longer, so it's in the lead. Ultimately I'm sure it will be the Tudor as I got it to be the main "sports watch" of my collection.

Like both of these, but i prefer the Alinghi chronograph more. The Dr. Pepsi collab is such a clever watch
