Presentation

How important is presentation? To those of you with Rolex or such with over the top packaging does it add to the experience for you?

I have to admit I’ve considered buying a Tissot for the fold out factory. Or one of those AliExpress (forgot the brand) that comes in a shipping container.

My most interesting packaging was my Deep Blue. It’s neoprene zip pouch. There was a few trinkets, I think a keychain or something. I don’t really do anything with it or look at it even. Yet I always save the boxes, and everything inside.

It looks great when you open it, but then it’s stored away. It’s what’s in the box. Always save the box and papers though.

Actually find OTT packaging annoying TBH. Big wooden box (Omega) I'm never going to use for anything but is too nice to throw away.

It adds to the whole experience. Here is one from my collection by #frederiqueconstant

Is that an E type Jag?

It makes no odds to me, same as I am really, I dress and look generally like a shower of shit but I'm ace inside! 😂😂😂

That is actually a pretty good idea. Or offer two “tiers” a base level with essentially a cardboard sleeve and a premium with the winder and and such.

Especially when you know to some extent you paid for that.

Yeah that entire package is an experience. I’d like to see more like that especially with brands doing a limited edition theme and then using the same packaging as a regular model.

So I actually love and hate it. I love the full presentation, getting all the bells and whistles. When I received my Aventi, the presentation was 👌🏼. After I do the unboxing, I realize “fudge, where am I going to put this…😑”

That’s shameful on my behalf. I blame the tiny phone screen. 🤣

A nice presentation box is great if you are giving a watch as a gift, in that it certainly can make it appear more special. In addition, it can also be used as a nice display box, however that is really only appropriate for smaller collections (especially considering how large some presentation boxes are). I have plenty of storage space, so I keep all of my boxes, but never do anything with them other than possibly admire them for 30 seconds when I first get them.
