While I think both are very attractive watches I think the Vertex takes it for me. I prefer the more subtle design with just the hints of flare with the two red-dots at the 12 those beautiful molded lume markers. I also find the proportions more appealing at 10mm thick and a lug-to-lug of 47mm, I think it would wear better on my wrist personally. Good luck on your decision - think you're getting a winner either way!

I honestly keep leaning Vertex too. The tough part for me is i have always wanted a nice Fortis and I have only recently discovered Vertex... And of course there is nowhere I can see both at the same time. Maybe if a start a GoFundMe and cry enough then people will pay me to just shut up lol.
A little late to comment, but like everyone said, you can't go wrong with either... Things to consider though; Water resistance (200m VS 100m), spring bars (the Fortis has a screw-in bars, so if you change straps regularly might get bothersome). I would personally go with the Fortis, it's one of those do anything, go anywhere kind of watch.

It's never too late to make points that torment me even more lol....so right, I change straps a ton. Thanks George!
What did you end up getting Jay ? i like both watches the Fortis 39 in the Blue is sublime but that Vertex is killer. If anyone has had hands on with the Automatic i would be very interested in their opinion.
Nice to meet you all. I am a long time watch collector, and recent reviewer. I review watches on my YT channel TheWatchMission. I like all kinds of watches from manual to autos to quartz to hybrids. I...

I'd go Vertex with that military look but both are great looking pieces
Fortis looks better and better the more I look at it!
