Hanhart 417 ES 1954 Flyback (Custom Made)
I’ve lusted and wanted one for a while now but couldn’t decide on the right model. I love the classic all black dial but preferred the column wheel Flyback movement of the Reverse Panda model. I contacted the AD here in Australia (Define Watches) to ask if there was a model on the horizon that combined the two. The owner Peter replied that, funny enough, he had been asked the exact same question the day before by one of his regular customers! And since he had a great relationship with the Hanhart CEO, he had already asked and they were going to specially make a custom modified version of the 1954 with the Flyback movement for Define Watches. Suffice to say I pounced on it like a hungry kid at an all you can eat KFC buffet!!!
Well good things come to those who wait… it finally arrived today and boy was it worth the wait! Absolutely enamored and over the moon with it.
This custom version is even more accurate to the original ‘54 version as the original had the Flyback feature.
Oofty, the honeymoon period for this one is gonna go for a loooong while!

Wonder if it's too much to ask for them to either engrave the caseback or supply a certificate that attests to how special your watch will be?

Awesome story. I was thinking of writing them to see if they could do that to my Red Lion. I was hoping they could put 'flyback' on the dial as well but that may be asking too much. Did you inquire about a dial update as well?

No I intentionally didn’t. Plus I think it was going to be too hard to achieve. I actually preferred the two line of text (shockproof & antimagnetic) without Flyback as it’s more accurate to the original dial in ‘54! 🤘🏽😎🤘🏽
