I think there’s something seriously wrong with me.

No it’s nothing personal although I will admit my health isn’t the greatest at times. I’m talking about my watch wearing habits. Ever since I received my latest watch the Cadisen C-8222G a Nautilus 5711 homage in the blue dial I haven’t taken it off since I, received it almost a month ago. I look at my other watches and I feel no connection at times. It’s not that I’ve fallen out of love with my collection I just always gravitate towards the Cadisen. This doesn’t mean I’ll never buy or wear another watch in fact I’m currently looking at a few dive watches. Still don’t know if I’ll pull the trigger on one of them now or down the road. If I do get a new watch I just hope I wear it longer than a couple days before going back to the Cadisen. Just out of curiosity has as one gone through something similar?

If you’re enjoying a watch you already have, that seems like a good time to not buy other watches. Wait until you feel you really need something else and you’ll probably enjoy it more. Cheers.

I personally feel like a father neglecting his children when I only wear one. I try to rotate watches daily.

There's something about that Nautilus design that resonates, right? I really have to fight myself not to constantly wear my Nautilus Seiko mod. Just peachy keen. If I ever win the lottery, the Patek Nautilus is the item I'm getting but, for now, the Nautilus homage hits the spot.

Both are correct.

Favorites and go-tos are not bad things. Most of us don't have a rotation for our shoes. You wear the shoes you feel like wearing that are at least up to the tasks for the day. If you feel like wearing a specific watch most days, wear it. Over time, it will probably hog your wrist a bit less, and passing up the watch you feel like wearing for another isn't going to make you feel good. It'll keep the lesser worn watches in a constant state of being worn occasionally out of obligation, which will not be enjoyable and robs them of the novelty of returning to something you haven't worn in a while that makes you actually want to wear them. Some watches might fall completely away, but that's okay. You can return later to give them another shot, try a new strap, sell them, gift them, or just keep them.

Nowt wrong with that mate.

I wear my Grail far more than I should, often when I really should be wearing a beater.

If it makes you happy, that's what it's all about.

Life's short , enjoy the things that put a smile on your face, there's no rules 😉👍🏻

Yes there is definitely something wrong with you. This is not normal. If it does not pass please seek medical attention.

Currently going through the same feeling since I bought my 1960 Rolex ref 1601 about 6 weeks ago. I'm finally rotating a few watches in, sometimes not for a full day, but several are languishing in obscurity in my watch box and although I share that same "father neglecting his children" feeling, I cant bring myself to rotate just for the sake of.

I feel rather silly as I write this, but it's nice to know that I'm not alone!

Enjoy your Cadisen, or whatever watch it is that "scratches the itch."

I get it. I have some pieces when I get them that I wish to wear more often, like my Addiesdive Willard. If you like something and it works for you, then I'd say stick with it.

I'm also into traditional wet shaving, and there's something people are told when they get into the hobby. It's stick with the wet shaving for 3-6 months, and then for at least one shave or for a week, switch back to a cartridge razor, and then go back to wet shaving. The whole point of this exercise is it gives you fresh eyes on what you like about it.

So, you could try to wear a different watch for a day or few hours and go back to it to see if you pick up specific things about your watch that you gravitate towards. This could help in the future for looking at different watches or, at the very least, give you a sense of why you love that particular watch so much.

Anyway, have fun and enjoy what you like. 🍻

You should really take it off to wash underneath and allow the skin to breathe a bit. I feel an obligation to spend quality time with all my watches, to rarely is it more than a couple days in a row.

The struggle is real. I think the same thing happens with everything I own not just my watches! 🤪🤪

If you've "that one watch" you need to relish that and just enjoy it. Many will look for a very long time without ever finding it. 🥂 If it's a short-lived affair then enjoy that and rejoin the hunt when things cool down. 🙃
