Yesterday, I discovered a watch that was my favorite from yesterday, but not at the Watches and Wonders event as you might expect. Instead, this gem was showcased at a separate gathering hosted by Hotel Beau-Rivage on the shores of Lake Geneva. This exclusive event featured around 50 independent watch brands, including DeBethune, Le’pee, Nevada Gretchen, Furlan Marri, Atelier Wen, Doxa, and others.
What particularly captured my attention was a watch entirely crafted from tantalum, a rare and heavy material, which gave it a feel comparable to full platinum models from prestigious brands like Rolex and Audemars Piguet. I was so impressed that I immediately offered to buy it. Fortunately, the brand representatives informed me that they plan to release a production version later this year, with an expected retail price between $10,000 and $13,000. If this holds true, it will undoubtedly represent the best value for a tantalum watch in the industry.
Just wanted to add that this watch is a prototype and they have not finalized the dial color options.

I am not a fan of purple, much less ever consider a purple dial watch, but this one has got my attention. I do not like the integrated bracelet, that dial really catches the light and is stunning.

Crazy part was this wasn’t even part of Watches and Wonders!. If I hadn’t run into Nico and he told me to go to Hotel Beau Rivage down by the waterfront, we would never have run into this watch or any of the other 40 brands that were showcasing their novelties at this hotel.
