My wife has bought me most of my watches so she knows what i have. also, i do the same for her. we don't have THAT many watchers ( i think 14 between the 2 of us), so it's not that big of deal. I hope to have many more but more than likely, she'll pick em out from my list that i give her. We both love watches. She just got me a new Seiko that I've been pining for so I'm a happy guy.

I guess I might be an Citizen Eco Drive. always in the dark, breaks a lot, average looking, and cheap.

Citizen. will never buy another. yeah, i know they are cheap, but both broke way too soon. had them both fixed. broke again. tried to love em. never buying again.

don't know too many other brands so I can't give any thoughts on those.

i was changing out watches every day, but since my wife got me an early Father's day watch, well, it has spent the most time on my wrist since last Saturday. If i'm working on stuff (like i just got done doing some garden work), i'll swap out for my Fossil. But for the most part, one watch a day.

The Seiko she just got me.... man do I LOVE THAT WATCH!!!! I know it ain't near as expensive as a lot of you folks spend, but it makes me feel dang good!!

naw, she has her own. some just as big as mine. I'm not into the pink and diamonds so she can keep hers and I'll keep mine. I'm anxious for the holidays since i already got her a new watch but i can't give it to her til then. ..

necessary? Probably not. But after doing basically what you said you do, have all 3 ecodrives die in less than 3 years, and having to replace the "batteries", I figure it can't hurt if they have some light every day.

Bonus, I can pick out a watch in the morning and not bother my wife.

I actually wear one to keep time. Where I work, we can't have any high tech devices that talk: smart watches, phones, key fobs, clocks, etc. So having something that tells me the time is worth its weight in gold. To have a watch that I have to take off every time I go into work makes it worthless. Sure, watches don't have perfect timekeeping, but it gets me the info I need.

Plus, I've always liked having a watch on the ole wrist. Quicker to check it than to have to pull out the phone and look at it. I tried going without a watch (for whatever reason... work, riding) and it caused more frustration than I wanted to deal with.

As far as color, I'm not the type to stand out so the watch needs to be the same.
