Citizen Eco-drive watch charging...

A weird question for you EOEs...

I want to build my own lighted watch case to store and charge my Citizen watches (now that I got em working). has anyone done this?  Yes, I know i can buy watch cases for that specfic purpose, but I'm a tinkering/DIY kind of guy.

If anyone has, what LEDs did you use?

Did you have a timer to turn the LEDs on/off for so much time each day, or just left the LEDs on 24/7?

How many LEDs were needed?

TYIA.

So I just picked up this Citizen EcoDrive and knew nothing about it, but I believe I read that if given a few full days of sunlight exposure, the watch will run for several months even if kept in total darkness. No knocking your desire to build a lighted case, but is that really necessary?

necessary? Probably not. But after doing basically what you said you do, have all 3 ecodrives die in less than 3 years, and having to replace the "batteries", I figure it can't hurt if they have some light every day.

Bonus, I can pick out a watch in the morning and not bother my wife.
