Watches to Buy your Lady (and secretly "Borrow" for Yourself)

If you are a guy who's into watches, you've probably had women ask you for watch recommendations. I've always drawn a blank, so I decided to rectify that problem, but from a slightly selfish perspective.

What are good unisex watches in your book?

Hey @Max , great video!

My partner and I do share a few watches, including, the Cartier Tank you mentioned in your video:

We also share ""HER"" Seiko Dolce:

Amazing JDM Timepiece with a former Grand Seiko movement (review here: https://www.watchcrunch.com/thiago/reviews/seiko-sacm150-review-8166)

And finally, ""HER"" Seiko 5

We are seriously thinking to add a Nomos to ""HER"" collection. 😉

Nice pieces! What a great hobby to share!  Nomos/Junghans would be a great addition 👍

Another great video :)

Another great video :)

Thanks dude!

·

The GF is shamelessly pilfering my watches and doesn't even have the grace to do it while I'm not looking. So in my case all my watches are unisex?

·

great video you cover most of what i think. this model can be unisex too.

36mm datejust

38mm junghans

My wife wears my 38mm Nomos Club Campus Future Orange. She also wears my vintage Caravelle Sea Hunter 36.5mm. We have been debating finding a vintage 36mm Datejust.

I have an 8" wrist and she has a 6.5" wrist, so she can really wear up to about 42mm in certain tool watches and I can go down to 36mm in certain vintage watches.

The hardest part is straps. I have a specific bracelet and leather strap for her with the Nomos. They're both 20mm with straight ends so she can use them on the other 20mm watches. Plus my NATOs also work.

Yes the Junghans with their tiny lugs 🙌

·

I actually quite enjoyed the bracelet on the spirit. The clasp was underwhelming

Your wife and I share the same wrist size 😅

·

Any Nomos for sure! I'd especially go with the Tetra

Dress watches (Cartier, etc.) and steel field watches (Explorer, Ranger) immediately come to mind

·

I ask my wife to wear “our” omega Aqua terra 38.5 all the time. She’s slowly getting in to the hobby, but very slowly. 😂

·

My wife (with a 6.5 inch wrist) will sometimes wear my 43mm Breitling Avenger GMT with zero sh*ts given! 🤷🏽‍♂️ I guess all watches can be ‘unisex’

Ps. Cracking video @Max … that Longines Dolce Vita (minus the strange equestrian inspired leather-bit) was an inspired pick

I'm pretty sure I'm gonna break down and get an 38.5 AT soon 😉

Your wife is a boss 😎

She's not sharing the Sub though

Loved the video and the photos at the end 😁!!

My wife often borrows pieces from me. I don't have many smaller watches. This Radiomir is chunky but she loves it. She is still protesting me selling my Snowflake. She wore it constantly with a blue Bartons soft rubber strap. I may have to replace it with something Titanium GS soon. The Snowflake made a GS & Titanium fan out of her

·

naw, she has her own. some just as big as mine. I'm not into the pink and diamonds so she can keep hers and I'll keep mine. I'm anxious for the holidays since i already got her a new watch but i can't give it to her til then. ..

·

#lorier Falcon 3. My wife just got it, but she will be losing it when she is not looking… 🤫

·

My wife loves her some dainty watches. I’m all for the idea of sharing, but with my wrist size and her taste in watches, one of us would end up looking pretty strange if we shared.🤔

·

That could be the case of the just released SCURFA "Tiffany" Top Side Crew Treasure Seeker (quite a mouthful)

Image

Could clearly see a lady wearing this nice and sporty piece, but I must admit I wouldn't mind either. Probably not on the stock white rubber band, but an olive green or a grey one would be a good summer combo

·

My wife has first dibs on any watch I bring home and we trade back and forth from time to time.  She will also research and shop around for models she might want for herself.

We both have rotations that we share and enjoy.

·

I will also add my own suggestions here:

  • Any 36 millimeters wide Vaer watches (e.g. the C3 Atlas)
Image
  • The Traska Commuter and Summiteer 36
Image
Image
  • And the Christopher Ward C63 Sealander Automatic 36mm
Image

What do you think about my suggestion?

·

My wife has pretty small wrists; in the pre Apple Watch days she was only comfortable up to about 28mm.  Now that we're in the AW times, you can't pry that off her.

I keep offering, and she keeps responding that as soon as I can find a mechanical watch that can track the stroke splits in her IM sets and keep logs of training ramps for meets, she'll be happy to switch.

Wifey loves to borrow the Panerai!!??  🤪

That's awesome and at the same time bonkers.  Would be great to see her happen across a huge steroid monster of a human and commenting "Hey!  We have the same watches!"

My wife digs watches that are precisely small enough so legibility is possible only if you wear a loup.

The Radiomir is bigger but nothing like a Panerai Dive Watch.  The case shape is much more compatible for both men and women. Also the simple dial layout is alot less aggressive

The pink one, with the unicorn, and the rainbow bracelet.
