Two in the Roll, One on the Wrist - Episode I

Being more than heavily inspired from the “What’s in the Roll” series from Just One More Watch (can’t find his WC handle, does he have one?), I decided to share with you thr Chosen Ones that will accompany me during my holidays.

For a bit of context, I will be one week in Spain visiting my family and seeing friends, and 5 days in Ireland attending a wedding as a guest. I almost had to pack two different suitcases given the difference in climate and situations, and the chosen watches reflect that.

The Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 is, almost, my signature piece. My statement piece. It is the watch I want to be remembered wearing. I feel like a million dollars wearing it and it is partly why wearing watches is so addictive. That’s a matter for another thread though.

The PRX will be out when going out with friends and family, when visiting people, when meeting people, when going shopping. It will sure be a good companion during some sightseeing in Dublin and during the wedding functions that call for “casual” dress codes.

My vintage 1977 quartz Omega Constellation will sure take over the “formal attire” situations. I basically treat it as my dress watch due to its small size and understated design. I wear it on days that I prefer being a but more under the radar, like when sightseeing in tourist hotspots, but also when meeting friends in a more intimate and relaxed setup or when just hanging out around the house on a tracksuit.

The summer can’t be complete without a summer watch. I’m not a huge beach guy, maybe I’ll go once or twice if some friends join, but the PADI

Turtle will be on the wrist as soon as it is an outdoors occasion, like having a good lunch on the seaside or going for a bit of a walk. The water resistance will also help in case it gets all rainy and wet in Ireland. This one will act as my travel watch too, won’t be afraid of scarring the bracelet with an overhead luggage locker lid, like it happened to my PRX.

Looking forward to hear your opinions!

Got all your bases covered, some great choices to travel with too.

Definitely understand the relationship with the PRX, at least now I know what the AP wearers feel like to some extent...

Don’t understand the need to bring to many watches on travel.

I’d just go Turtle + PRX.

In this day and age, the PRX can double as your dress watch unless you’re going to a really posh and stuffy black tie event where everyone follows decorum.

In a shorter and less “diverse” trip for sure, would be traveling just with the pouch with one watch in. However, I’ve hiked with the PRX on in the past and it really bothered me. Fair, I could get some rubber straps for it… but I don’t like how they look. It’s going to be almost 2 weeks, I’ll need some variety!
